What is an Emergency Response Unit?
An Emergency Response Unit is the confidence that you or a loved one will have immediate help in an emergency. A serious fall or heart attack could strike anywhere. Unable to reach a telephone for help, you or a loved one could lie in pain on a cold floor for hours, hoping, praying to be found in time. It could be days. It could be too late.
By simply pressing a button, your remote transmitter will instantly
activate the small base unit located in your home. The unit will immediately
alert our Monitoring Station, initiating two-way voice communications between you and our operators. Using
highly sensitive microphones that can amplify sound, a reassuring voice will come through the line to ask if everything is okay.
If there is no response, we will call one of your designated responders to check on you, usually
a neighbour or nearby friend or family member. And when needed, we will call the authorities.
Emergency Response Units are for people who wish to live with independence and dignity, but want the peace of mind that they will be taken care of in an emergency. An Emergency Response Unit can service home owners and renters, and can be of particular benefit to:
