Emergency Response Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How can a Security ONE operator hear what's going on throughout the house?

When you press your pendant, you activate your base unit. Its sensitive microphones amplify sound, enabling you to hear us and us to hear you anywhere up to 150 feet from the base unit.

2. Can you eavesdrop on what's happening in my home when there is no emergency?

Absolutely not. Security ONE's fail-safe feature makes it impossible for us to listen unless an emergency signal is sent first.

3. What if I send a false alarm or get confused and do the wrong thing?

Our Emergency Response units are a personal system for detecting emergencies which will automatically put you in touch with a monitoring professional who can help you. No false alarm can ever be sent because our monitoring staff are there 24 hours a day to ascertain the most appropriate response to your alarm signal.

4. Can I wear my pendant in the shower?

Absolutely. Our remote transmitters are waterproof, so you can contact us anytime. You can wear it on your wrist or your chest.

6. Can an Emergency Response unit be used in apartments, condominiums or trailers?

Security ONE's Monitoring Center has been designed to ensure continuous, uninterrupted service. Our computers, data files, receivers and telephone systems have a secondary back-up power supply in the event of a power failure. Your base unit and remotes can also operate on internal batteries during power failures.

8. What if the batteries get low on the remote sensors?

Our sensors automatically send us a signal when batteries are low.
